Operetta is ingenious music!
A little bit of revue, chanson and couplet - Suppè, Strauß, Kálmán, Lehár - operetta is both charm and humour, and above all: operetta is ingenious music. Its melodies convey witty lightness and freshness. Out of this world, animated, adventurous, passionate and euphoric, this music reflects the mood of an entire epoch.
But how can this gesamtkunstwerk be brought into the 21st century? First-class soloists from the Vienna State Opera Ildikó Raimondi and Herbert Lippert have
taken on this task, and together with the OMIA Youth Orchestra - in collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - have created a multimedia, historical-documentary operetta concert: Operetta - Made In Austria.
