Grammy Prize winner Herbert Lippert is one of the most sought - after tenors of our time. He received his first musical training as a soloist with the Wiener Sängerknaben.
His voice was mainly influenced by Sir Georg Solti and Wolfgang Sawallisch, under whose direction numerous recordings were made, such as "The Creation", "Don Giovanni" and "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg". Herbert Lippert was responsible for the outstanding interpretation of David in Die Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg "received the Grammy Award.
Herbert Lippert has recorded over 300 recordings, among others with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Franz Welser - Möst, Leopold Hager, Julius Rudel, Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann, Sir Georg Solti and Wolfgang Sawallisch. In particular the cycle "The Spiritual Work" with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Concentus Musicus, with over 30 phonograms, is to be emphasized.
At the most important opera houses, among others. At the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Opera Bastille and Opera Garnier in Paris, Bunka Kaikan Hall Tokyo and Herbert Lippert's more than 50 main roles sung.
One of the great successes in the Lieder sector are songs by Wolfgang Sawallisch, Fabio Luisi, Maurizio Pollini and Eduard Kutrowatz.
Herbert Lippert is an ensemble member of the Viennese Staatsoper, where he sings the great tenorparties such as Lohengrin, Loge (Rheingold), Erik (Flying Dutchman), Bacchus (Ariadne on Naxos), Paul (Dead City) and Eisenstein (Fledermaus). In the season 2017/2018 he will sing two main parts at the Vienna Staatsoper, among others, at the premieres in Alban Berg's opera "Lulu" as "Alwa" and as "Camille Desmoulins" in Gottfied von Einem's "Dantons Tod".
